About the Editor in Chief:
Hans Smit is the Stanley H. Fuld Professor of Law at Columbia University School of Law. Professor Smit is acknowledged as a internationally renowned expert in the fields of International Law and Arbitration and has published numerous books and articles on International Arbitration and International Law and Procedure.

Professor Smit has been a visiting professor at the University of Paris and has consulted on legal reform at the World Bank. He is also a member of the Royal Dutch Academy of Sciences and International Academy of Comparative Law. From 1960 to 1969 Professor Smit was a Reporter to the U.S. Commission on International Rules of Judicial Procedure. He is a former Adviser to the U.S. Delegation to UNCITRAL.

  • Giorgio Bernini is a special counsel to Studio Bernini Associato a Baker & McKenzie in Bologna. He is now Honorary President of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) after serving as President for two terms.
  • Horacio A. Grigera Naón, Director of the International Arbitration Program at American University Washington College of Law, serves as an independent international arbitrator and consultant on business and international law matters, and is former Secretary General of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
  • Bernard Hanotiau, Partner, Hanotiau & van den Berg in Brussels, Belgium. He is a member of the ICC Institute and the ICC International Arbitration Commission. He is former Co-Chair of the IBA Arbitration Committee. 
  • J. Martin H. Hunter, is Professor of International Dispute Resolution, Nottingham Law School; Visiting Professor, King's College London University; Chairman, Dubai International Arbitration Centre; Honorary Dean of Postgraduate Studies, T.M.C.   • Sergei N. Lebedev, (Moscow, Russian Federation) President, Maritime Arbitration Commission; Member of the Presidium, International Commercial Arbitration Court of the Russian Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Head, Private International and Civil Law Department, Moscow Institute of International Relations.   • Pierre Mayer is Professor, Université de Paris I C Sorbonne, Paris. He is the Vice President of the French Private International Law Committee and is also past President of the Committee on International Commercial Arbitration of the International Law Association.
  • Werner Melis is Honorary Vice President of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) and he was Vice President of the London International Court of Arbitration (LCIA) until 2002. He teaches international commercial arbitration at the Vienna University. He has initiated the foundation of the International Arbitral Centre of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and he is Chairman of the Board.
  • Michael Charles Pryles, President Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration and Asia Pacific Regional Arbitration Group, Court Member LCIA and Chair ICC Australia.
  • Claude Reymond, Professor of Law at the University of Geneva, and Honorary Professor at the University of Lausanne.
