About the Book:
The Chapters of this volume, by world-renowned arbitration experts, explore and analyze the various facets of the vexing question of the lex mercatoria or new law merchant. European jurists have debated the existence and implications of the lex mercatoria for a number of years. The surge of interest in arbitration and the internationalist demeanor of the United States Supreme Court, however, has placed the topic in the forefront of current considerations. This volume intends to bridge the gap by applying a thorough record of the issues and positions within the debate.
