Introduction
The State of Oklahoma, as do all other states in the United States of America, provides a
framework for the transaction of business within its boundaries. These constitutional
guidelines, statutes, case law directives and general principles are not exhaustive and cannot
cover every contingency which arises. The approach of this study will be to examine
some of the significant areas of Oklahoma law which might be beneficial to a European
legal practitioner or businessman. Special attention will focus on areas which would be
beneficial in conducting a business transaction in Oklahoma. Therefore, much of the
study will center on the different business organizations. The business organizations’outline
will occupy a major portion of this study because of its crucial relationship to the
actual conducting of business in this state. Of particular focus will be those provisions
which pertain to the creation of a corporation in Oklahoma, and those rules and limitations
which effect foreign ownership of land.

A second area which will be examined will be the structure that exists within the State of
Oklahoma to attract and aid new businesses. These incentives will be of special interest to
any organization that is contemplating a financial venture in Oklahoma.

Finally, several miscellaneous ideas gleaned from Oklahoma law will be examined to
give a well-rounded presentation of special requirements for a foreign investor in
Oklahoma. From this three-pronged presentation, it is hope that a useful framework of the
legal requirements for doing business in Oklahoma will be constructed which will be of
assistance to those considering the State of Oklahoma for commercial ventures.
